Verdict

Amnesia by FYTA delivers a classic, spacey, and uplifting high with a slight psychedelic edge, but it falls short on execution. While the traditional spicy-citrus aroma is pleasant, the flavour lacks staying power, and a harsh, dark-burning smoke makes it very difficult to recommend for pure joint smokers.

Amnesia: WeedViewer Review

[{"content":"Developed in the mid-1990s by Super Strains (formerly Hypro Seeds), Amnesia is widely regarded as one of the most influential Haze-based hybrids of the modern era. According to Super Strains accounts, the strain was created by pairing a selection of Nevil’s Haze genetics from the 1980s with Enemy of the State, Super Strains’ Afghan Indica line. The breeding objective was to retain the cerebral, citrus-forward characteristics associated with classic Haze varieties while improving flower density, resin production and flowering speed through the influence of Afghan genetics.\n\nThe resulting Sativa-hybrid became known for combining energetic, Sativa-dominant effects with a more compact structure and shorter flowering period than many traditional Haze cultivars. Over time, Amnesia established a strong reputation within European cannabis culture and won multiple Highlife Cup awards, contributing to its long-standing reputation among Haze-derived strains.","heading":"About"},{"content":"It offers a pleasant, standard Amnesia nose, very spicy and citrusy, backed by some earthy, herbal undertone. The profile shifts nicely once you grind it up. The sharp spiciness falls back, allowing a softer, more lemony side to be more dominant, giving it a gentle scent almost similar to a wild flower. It’s an enjoyable aroma, it’s just not the strongest or most unique expression out there.","heading":"Aroma"},{"content":"The flavour profile stays true to tradition, delivering that familiar Amnesia mix of spiciness, lemon, and an earthy base. While the classic taste is definitely there, it lacks a strong punch and doesn't offer much staying power after you exhale.","heading":"Flavour"},{"content":"The high is easily the highlight here. It sets in gradually without overwhelming you upfront, but after a little while, it builds into a quite strong, spacey high with a slight psychedelic edge. It does a good job of lifting the mood and can really trigger the munchies. It's that iconic, uplifting Amnesia buzz, just don't always expect to stay super functional.","heading":"Effects"},{"content":"This is where it really struggles. The smoke is notably sharp on the throat for the majority of the session, making it a pretty rough smoke. It leaves behind a mostly dark ash and suffers from an uneven, inconsistent burn. If you prefer smoking your flower pure, this one is not recommended.","heading":"Burn Quality"}]
